What is Cellulite? Causes and Treatments

Cellulite often called as “cottage cheese” is a dimpled appearance on the dermis due to accumulation of fat. This dimpled appearance is unpleasant, irregular and can be compared with orange peel. Cellulite is more observed in women in post- adolescent age. Cellulite can even be seen in men. It is commonly developed in regions like thighs, abdomen, buttocks, and hip. Obesity is often related with cellulite, which is not true as it can be observed in lean women. What is cellulite? Causes and cure? These are the most commonly topics asked and searched on the web.

Ninety percent older women have cellulite in them. Biologically, there are three layers of fat and cellulite is more likely to develop in subcutaneous fat layers. These layers of fat have unique structure and the pattern differs in men and women. The fatty parts are arranged in specific compartments linked with the tissues of the skin by strands. Besides body metabolism, hormones assist in accumulation of fat in subcutaneous fat layer. Estrogens and folliculine too play a crucial role in formation of cellulite. Cellulite is developed during the hormonal changes like menopause, puberty, pregnancy and consumption of birth control pills.

Who is responsible?

Hormones are responsible for smooth circulation of blood, connective tissue, fat and lymphatic drainage. The fat cells dissolve in the floppy network of fat layer. Genetic structure determines the metabolism and fat storage in the subcutaneous layers depending on the lifestyle, diet and exercise. This fat layer is prearranged in the large upright chambers where fat is stored. These chambers are structured in small inclined units in case of men. Due to storage of smaller quantities of fat, chances to form cellulite are less.

Regular exercise and balanced diet prevents formation of cellulite, while an unhealthy lifestyle will make the conditions worse due to weighed gain, insufficient water intake and poor nutrition. Aging reduces the tone and thickness of connective tissue in dermis and the subcutaneous layer of fat. This results in unattractive flaccid cellulite formation. What is cellulite is well known to you; you might as well like to get acknowledged with the cellulite treatment procedure.

Treatment methods

There is wide range of products available in the market that claim to cure cellulite, many of which are ineffective. You may end up spending a lot of money in these products with no outcome. Creams made from herbs, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants are available which softens the skin making it healthier and smoother. This helps the dermis to repair itself. Creams containing anti-inflammatory and antioxidants prove effective to treat cellulite as they motivate the blood flow. Cellulite needs moisture, protection and blood flow as they are damaged and dry. It is important to understand that cellulite needs to be treated internally and externally.

Many women tend to reduce the cellulite from the body, while some prefer liposuction method. However, liposuction is not recommendable as it used to remove fat from the body. Methods like endermologie and mesotherapy are quite popular and prove to be effective. Deep massage and diet control will also help in reduction of cellulite. Anyone asking you what is cellulite? You know now, don’t you?

cellulite is caused by fatty deposits under the skin, exercising, losing weight and masaging the area helps, but massage down!

First of all let me start out by saying that there is not "magic pill", or quick and easy solution for getting rid of cellulite!(sorry)
There are a number of reasons we all have cellulite, some can be influenced and remedied, but others cannot – like genetics and heredity for instance.
the good news is that plenty of other factors causing cellulite CAN be addressed (I know, I did IT!), and these are namely not drinking enouh water,
poor diet (alcohol, processed foods, lots of caffeine and other toxins), smoking, diet pills, sleeping pills, diuretics, crash diets, and the most importantly –
sedentary lifestyle! so getting rid of all these bad habits, and getting started with a solid aerobic excercise regimen will put you on your way to cellulite-free future :)
Also I’ve found that combination of resveratrol(overall very healthy and energizing product) and Body Solutions Cellulite System also helped me get rid of cellulite,
so i wholeheartedly recommend it. (Some people told me it’s a placebo, could be, but I dont agree!)
This is the product I used:

But remember, this is NO magic bullet, and wont do much without a disciplined daily excercise regimen, and without adopting healthy habits which are the foundation of weight-loss and cellulite removal (no matter what others tell you)

Good luck, it’s hard work, but it’s worth it!!!
